Riverview Estates is awarded four-star recognition!
The Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes easily and to help identify areas about which a consumer may want to ask questions or seek more complete information. The Nursing Home Compare website, www.medicare.gov/nhcompare shows the rating for each nursing home. On February 1, 2010, CMS gave Riverview Estates a 4-star rating, indicating the care we provide is in the top third of all nursing homes in New Jersey. The rating system is 1 through 5 stars. Nursing homes with 5 stars are considered to have much above average quality (top 10% of all nursing homes in the state) and nursing homes with 1 star are considered to have quality much below average (bottom 20% of all nursing homes in the state). Each nursing home is given an overall rating and a separate rating for each of the following three sources of information: Health Inspections – consists of the last 3 years of onsite inspections, including both standard surveys and any complaint surveys. The most recent inspection is weighted more than the prior two years. Staffing – concerns the number of hours of care on average provided to each resident each day by nursing staff. The level of care needed by residents is considered when assigning this rating. Quality Measures (QMs) – information on 10 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents is collected for all residents; for example, prevalence of pressure sores or changes in resident’s mobility. These QMs offer information about how well a nursing home is caring for their residents’ physical and clinical needs. This rating system is not a substitute for personally visiting any long term facility that you may be considering. Founder’s Day Celebration/Ice Cream Social

1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Founder’s Day is a celebration of Worship in order to express our appreciation to God for His guidance and the blessing Riverview Estates has been in the lives of over 925 residents since our opening in 1954. This year’s guest speaker will be Rev. Jay Rambo, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Bordentown and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Riverview Estates. All are welcome to attend. A free will offering will be taken for our Benevolent Care Fund. Following the ceremony will be the Annual Ice Cream Social featuring Sundaes and Root Beer Floats.

Paddlewheel Strutters

The Paddlewheel Strutters have been entertaining crowds for the last 15 years. It all started when 2 friends met in the front line of a local string band and decided to give people what they want; OLD TIME MUMMERS MUSIC !! This trio, which usually consist of the banjo, accordion and saxophone play and sing old time favorites from years past. Although we have put away those heavy back pieces, our upbeat happy sound is alive and well! COME ON GET HAPPY!!! Join the Paddlewheel at our next performance.
