Raise The Roof !

We are embarking on a three-year project to replace our roof.  The cost is estimated at $150,000 and that does not include solar panels, which we are considering.  There are sections of our roof that have been patched so many times, any more patching will be ineffective.  We have one hallway that “rains” during every heavy downpour and as snow melts.  We are required by regulation to have ceiling tiles in place with no stains.  Replacing these tiles becomes costly both in terms of materials and manpower, but it must be done to remain in compliance with state and federal regulations.

I am asking each of our supporters to become involved in this new project.  We call it “Raise the Roof!”  As we raise money for the roof, we will replace those sections which are in the worst shape.  Yes, it would be less expensive to wait and have the entire roof done at one time than to do it in sections, but we are being realistic.  At Riverview Estates we have a philosophy of having the money in hand before we spend it.  This isn’t always possible, but the policy has served us well over the years. 

How can you be involved?  Choose one or more of the ways suggested below, or come up with your own idea that appeals to you.

• Send a monthly, quarterly, or annual check marked Raise the Roof!  We do ask that you continue your regular giving to Riverview Estates, but if you can make an additional donation for the roof, God bless you!
  
  
• Ask for a Raise the Roof bank.  We have small cardboard banks that can be used to collect your change or take them to a Sunday School or Bible Study and ask members to put loose change there.
  
  
• Get involved in our annual walk-a-thon.  This year our walk-a-thon proceeds will go toward this fundraiser.  You can do a walk-a-thon at your church or in your neighborhood any time of the year, or request pledge forms, collect donations throughout the year and join us on September 11 as we walk for the roof.
  
  
• Support other events we will sponsor throughout the next three years that will raise designated funds for the Raise the Roof campaign.
  
  
• Invite us to speak at your church, Sunday school class, social group, community group, or civic organization.  We would love to visit you and your friends to share about Riverview Estates and our Raise the Roof campaign.
