Path of Light |
Thursday December 18, 2008
6:45 pm
The light of a single candle will dispel a little darkness, but the light of many candles can brighten the world!
At this time of year, Riverview Estates invites friends of the home to join us in honoring very special people in a very special way.
Now an eight-year seasonal tradition, our Christmas Path of Light is a simple and heartfelt way to honor loved ones. We do this, even as we celebrate the miracle of Christmas when Jesus brings light to overcome the darkness of the world. |
|
Each gift of $25 to the Christmas Path of Light enables us to purchase a luminary. The name of your loved one is affixed to the luminary. On Thursday, December 18, all luminaries will be placed along the path of the Rose Garden and along the curved driveway where Riverview Estates faces the Delaware River.
As the luminaries are lit at dusk, their glow provides a candlelight dinner for our residents. At 6:45 our chaplain leads us in a brief devotional, at which time the names of all our honorees will be read. Names are also displayed on a board in our Victorian Living room for the holiday season.
